Microsoft price increases April 1st 2023

 Monday, January 16, 2023

Microsoft have made the announcement that they are updating local currency cloud pricing in EUR, GBP, SEK, NOK and DKK based on foreign currency fluctuations compared to the US dollar (USD) to have greater price harmonisation for cloud products across the globe.

Starting April 1st the British Pound (GBP) prices will adjust +9% and the Euro (EUR) 11%

·         Avoiding this increase can be achieved through a renewal of an annual commitment, which would class as a new term so initial license purchased Feb/March would be protected

·         Microsoft have stated that pricing will be protected for existing subscriptions for seat-based cloud services offers in legacy CSP and NCE are protected during the term of the subscription at the original billing price. (so if your renewal is after April then you will experience the 9% increase after that renewal date)

·         Additional CSP seats added to an existing subscription (a subscription active before April 1st, 2023) will be at the original billing price

·         Licenses under the Monthly commitment terms will be subject to price increases after the 1st of April, for example, a customer transacting business standard on a monthly NCE commit in March will pay the normal price, then on the monthly renewal in April, they will pay the additional 9% and so on for the rest of the year
